Dear Friends,

Mr. Debatosh Sengupta, an Associate of the Royal Photographic society, Great Britain(1972), an Artist Federation International de ‘la Art Photographique, Belgium(1972) and a Fellow of Federation of Indian Photography(2003) is an intuitive photo artist. He initiated photography in 1970. He exhibited his interest in studying MAN with divergent ethnic and cultural origin having Negroid to Nordic in India since beginning and developed special interest for the study of Nature & environment as well. He has travelled extensively to the remotest places of India from the North to South and East to West for the Photographic documentation and also visited about 35 countries with different assignments.

Mr. Sengupta is more concerned with Pictorial work. He has been invited as visiting lecturer by a number of Government and Private organisations. He has been jury member in many National and International exhibitions. He has earned various laurels both at home and abroad. Some of them are UNESCO/ACCU Award, Indo-Soviet Friendship award, Gronftsher Photo Award, UNESCO World Photo Award, Lalit Kala Academy Award and UP State Lalit Kala Academy Award. Mr. Sengupta has been conferred with life time achievement award by the Academy of Visual Media, New Delhi in 2007 as well. He has more than 200 acceptances in the National and International exhibitions to his credit. He has been conferred with the honour ESFIAP (Excellence Service Federation International d’ la Art Photographique) by the Federation International d’ la Art Photographique (FRANCE).

Presently he is the Director of Photo Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, New Delhi (India).

He firmly believes that our country is possibly the best on planet earth as this has all the aspects of the nature. He realized this beauty sometime in the year 2000 when he visited Orissa, almost after the world’s one of the most devastating cyclones. Same was his reflection of mind when he visited the south coast and the Andaman & Nicober Islands almost one year after the Tsunami.

Here are his photographs taken during his visit to Andaman & Nicober islands. Please have a joy of these stunning photographs.
