I feel pleased to put in the picture that our blog, “Abhviyakti: Expression through Photography”, has completed one flourishing year of its voyage and is observing its 1st anniversary. This blog was initiated in the year 2009, with the aim of sharing the knowledge of photography among the art lovers. The aspect of learning was placed on priority while doing so and consequently learning section became the vital part of the blog. Communicating practical tips on different subjects in easy language through this category has been our aim. The information of different important places is always valuable for photography lovers. This helps them taking the photographs judicially with vital details of the places. Therefore the Photo feature section became a major part of our blog. A few articles covering the important details of some exquisite places were included in this segment. Knowing about different artists is quite advantageous for true art enthusiasts as this gives them a chance to evaluate their skills. Keeping this fact in consideration, the blog aimed at highlighting the works of great masters and beginners with their biographic details constantly. Furthermore we tried to provide significant information of diverse events through Abhivyakti.

The success of a blog depends entirely on the readers and followers. They are the strong pillars of any such podium. I happily acknowledge that a good numbers of tasteful readers and cohorts from India and abroad (Denmark, Chile-South America, Brazil, Turkey etc.) have coupled with the blog. Their friendly association and valuable feedback have helped improving the quality of the contents. I’m grateful to all the readers and followers. I conclude with the promise that I’ll try my best for the benefit of art lovers in future through “Abhivyakti”.

We can see the talent and art of legends of photography here. "Abhivyakti" is a learning blog for budding photographers like me. No doubt I have learnt so many things by just going through this blog. For example, I was not aware of photograms. When I saw Mr. K. G. Maheshwari ji’s work on ‘Abhivyakti’, I came to know about photograms.

I am a fairly new reader of Mr. Pankaj Sharma’s photography blog after I met him recently through Dr. Anup Mishra, a mutual friend and colleague. Due to our shared interest in the photography of beautiful places and subjects, he quickly got me interested in his fantastic blog and its enjoyable contents. In fact this is the first time in my life that I have been enthusiastically reading a photography blog and was delighted and impressed to learn that it was even featured in a mainstream photography magazine. What I like most about the blog is that it eloquently blends diverse features (e.g. professional and amateur photographs, biographic information, interesting anecdotes and valuable photography tips for beginners) into a single source that is easily accessible and fun to read. Most importantly, Sharmaji’s blog brings together people from all walks of life including professional and amateur photographers and people who simply want to enjoy beautiful imagery. Sharma ji may not be aware of it but because of his blog and his friendly enthusiasm, I was encouraged to also recently post some of my favorite images online for the first time. Therefore, I congratulate him heartily on this one-year anniversary of Abhivyakti which has brought joy, color and hope to many people’s lives, and shall continue to do so for many years to come. On this occasion of the first anniversary of the pankajsharmaphotographyblogspot.com I would like to share my feelings with all of you. I still remember the day when Dr. Pankaj Sharma started the blog and we had a discussion over its future course and the title in the office (the word “Abhivyakti” was taken from the title of his solo exhibitions). Like me many of his friends might have taken it very lightly thinking that there are thousands of blogs been posted everyday in the websites. However, some people can change the general perception with their extraordinary mind, diehard confidence, integrity, sincerity and hard work. I think Dr. Sharma has proved his mettle with the way he has managed to bring up the blog to such height. It has not only received accolades of best photographic blog but has also been the face of Indian photography today and has hundreds of followers worldwide.

The most important achievement of this blog is that it has been a common international podium for the beginners and amateurs along with the doyens and erudite artists of the field. This is heartening to see that there are many young and budding artists from different corner of India and different walk of life joining the blog everyday by posting their works. Besides, the profiles, interviews of great masters, youth gallery, photo features and the story behind the picture are some of the most popular themes of the blog.
