“Ibaadat”
Friends,
This
time I am before you with one of my memorable images, “Ibaadat” (Praying to God).
I clicked this image during a performance of famous Indian Kathak Dancer, Rani
Khanam in Bareilly (India). Rani Khanam performed Sufi Kathak Dance, which is a
sort of pious meditation through dance. The chief characteristic of this
performance was Dancer’s profound devotion for her act. The viewers of this
occasion were deeply fascinated by the spiritual atmosphere created by
performer. The ambience of the occasion provided a golden chance to take unforgettable
images. I concentrated on the expressions of performer. While clicking I had to
set the ISO of my camera according to the changing moods of light. Shutter
speed was also controlled according to the requirement. (Note: During such
performances we have to change the ISO and exposure settings as per our need.
But normally a high ISO and a high shutter speed are recommended). Although I
captured many images with different expressions, here is one of them. Present image
is special for me as this portrays the spiritual spirit of the artist. In addition,
the light approaching on a portion of face and fog around the performer seem
adding holiness to the picture.
Technical
Details of the image: Camera: Nikon D 90, Lens: Nikon 18-105 mm, Aperture: f 8,
Shutter Speed: 1/80 Sec., ISO: 400.
