“3rd IIPC World Photography Day Annual Photo Contest-2009”
Dear Friends,
Photography like other forms of art has become an important medium of artistic expression today. India International Photographic Council’s contribution for promotion of this form of art is admirable. The IIPC’s ‘World Photography-Day Annual Photo Contest’ provides a podium to the art lovers, whether an apprentice, amateur or professional, to display and polish their skills and know-how.
The response of participants towards “3rd IIPC World Photography Day Annual Photo Contest-2009” was exhilarating this year. A total of 1059 entries from 79 participants covering as many as 14 states were received in five categories, namely Monochrome Pictorial Prints, Colour Pictorial Prints, Nature Prints, Journalism Prints and Travel Prints. 313 photographs got acceptances out of received entries (1059). 05 photographs got awards and about 35 got Certificates of Merit. The award winners are:

(1). Mr. K. G. Maheshwari (Mumbai) for “Sanguine” (Monochrome Prints Section).
(2). Mr. Konda Jashuva (East Godavari, A. P) for “Cheerful Light” (Colour Prints Section).
(3). Mr. K. C. Marfatia (Mumbai) for “Lion, the Sadist” (Nature Prints Section).
(4). Mr. Akhil Hardia (Indore) for “Cricketer” (Journalism Prints Section).
(5). Mr. Girish. J. Kingar (Indore) for “Couple” (Travel Prints Section).

Dr. Pankaj Sharma, AIIPC, FFIP, IIPC Gold, Mr. Bijan Das and Dr. Kamran Khan, LIIPC were Jury Members.

The Photo Vision, Bareilly organised the exhibition of the best entries on 19th and 20th August, 2009. The show was inaugurated on the occasion of World Photography Day, 19th August-2009. Mr. O.N. Sharma, Mr. Gopal Sharma, Mr. Deepak Ghosh, IIPC Bronze, Mr. Bipin Mehra, Mr. Sushil Saxena, Dr. Anupam Sharma, Mr. Ajay Sharma, Mr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Mr. Anuj Sharma, LIIPC and Mr. Deepak Sharma gave their valuable contribution in steering the event to a successful completion.
