“7th IIPC World Photography Day Annual Photo Contest-2013”

    Photography is a vital means of artistic expression today. India International Photographic Council’s contribution for encouragement of this form of art is commendable. The IIPC’s ‘World Photography-Day Annual Photo Contest’ gives chance to the art lovers to demonstrate and improve their skills.
   The response of participants towards “7th IIPC World Photography Day Annual Photo Contest-2013” was exciting. A good number of entries (Nearly 750) from the participants of different parts of the country were received in five categories, namely Black and White Pictorial, Colour Pictorial, Nature, Photo-Journalism and Photo-Travel. About 250 photographs got acceptances, 08 photographs received awards and 17 photographs got Certificates of Merit. The award winners are:

     Dr. Pankaj Sharma, AIIPC, FFIP, AICS, IIPC Platinum, Mr. Bijan Das, LIIPC Mr. Deepak Ghosh, LIIPC, Mr. Gopal Sharma and Dr. Kamran Khan, LIIPC were Jury Members.
    The exhibition of the selected photographs was organised on 18 and 19 August, 2013 in IMA Hall Bareilly by Photo Vision. A good number of art-lovers visited the show on both days.
    Mr. Ramesh Gautam, famous writer and artist was the Chief Guest of inauguration function, while Mr. J. P. Sharma, Ex. Joint Secretary-Forest Department of U.P Govt. and Mr. M.P. Singh, Chief Conservator of Forest, Bareilly, were present as special guests.
   Mrs. Prerna Verma and Mr. Vijay Kumar Verma, Patrons of Photo Vision, presided over the function. Dr. Kamran Khan (Joint Secretary) gave vote of thanks. Mr. Deepak Ghosh (Vice President) welcomed the guests. Dr. Pankaj Sharma (Secretary) threw light on the activities of India International Photographic Council and Photo Vision.
   The function was the result of joint efforts of Photo Vision’s members. Mr. Gopal Sharma (President), Mr. Bijan Das (Vice President), Mr. Sanjay Jaiswal (Joint Secretary), Mr. Bipin Mehra (Cashier), Dr. Anupam Sharma, Dr. T. K. Verma, Mr. Ajit Chatterji,  Mr. Sachin Gaur, Mr. Satpal Singh, Mr. Sushil Saxena, Mr. Vimal Singh and Miss Priyanka Sharma deserve appreciation for their valuable support.

Born for Art: Bhawana Jaiswal

Born in Bhopal (India), Bhawana Jaiswal has been pursuing her passion, i.e. photography for the last 27 years. She is a serious art lover, who is constantly engaged in search of possibilities for artistic creations. She was inclined towards arts since her childhood days. She inherited the penchant for art photography from her father, Mr. Naval Jaiswal, who himself is a writer and artist of high repute. The photographs clicked by Bhawana are marked with a feel of serenity, originality of ideas and freshness of approach. She has to her credit a series of exhibitions “Chhaya Kumbh 2012” on twelve different subjects, and in twelve different cities of India. All twelve shows were well received and applauded by art lovers and critics alike. Her photographs have got a number of awards and acceptances in different renowned photography contests. Equipped with the latest IT skills, she has also been actively involved in short film making. She has served as jury in several photographic competitions. Creative writing is another facet of her personality. She has penned various articles related to photography. Bhawana has been working as a photographer with Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Bhopal since 2001.
