“5th IIPC World Photography Day Annual Photo Contest-2011”

Photography has been one of the strongest mediums of expression since its inception. Various associations have encouraged this medium significantly. But India International Photographic Council’s contribution for the promotion of this form of art is admirable. The IIPC’s ‘World Photography-Day Annual Photo Contest’ offers a platform to the art lovers, whether a novice, professional or a hobbyist to exhibit and shine their talent and knowledge.
The response of the participants towards “5th IIPC World Photography Day Annual Photo Contest-2011” was exciting this year too. A total of about 800 entries from nearly 60 participants covering more than 10 states were received in five categories, namely B/W Pictorial Photographs, Colour Pictorial Photographs, Nature, Photo-Journalism and Photo-Travel. About 230 photographs got acceptances out of received entries (800). 05 photographs received awards and about 15 photographs got Certificates of Merit. The award winners are:
(1). Mr. T. Veerabhadra Rao (Kakinada, A.P) for “Returning” (B/W Prints Section).
(2). Mr. Anup Sah (Nainital, Uttarakhand) for “Desert Evening” (Colour Prints Section).
(3). Mr. Ashish Kumar Pradhan (Sambalpur, Orissa) for “Red Vented Bulbul Feeding” (Nature Prints Section).
(4). Mr. Vaibhav Jaguste (Thane, Maharashtra) for “Helping Hands” (Journalism Prints Section).
(5). Mr. K. Srinivasa Rao (Khammam, A.P) for “Net” (Travel Prints Section).
Dr. Pankaj Sharma, AIIPC, FFIP, IIPC Platinum, Mr. Bijan Das, Mr. Deepak Ghosh, LIIPC, Mr. Gopal Sharma and Dr. Kamran Khan, LIIPC were Jury Members.
The exhibition of the selected photographs was organised on 19 and 20 August, 2011 in IMA Hall Bareilly by Photo Vision Society. A good number of art lover witnessed the event.
