“The Pushkar Fair of Rajasthan (India) occurs every year in the Hindu month of Kartik and ten days after Deepawali. During the period of this fair, Pushkar becomes a center of attraction for Indian and foreign tourists. The much awaited annual cattle fair begins here. Moreover a variety of highly demanded Handicrafts pertaining to different regions of Rajasthan are sold here. During this grand event hotels are full to their capacity. Thus tents and campsites suddenly spring up to accommodate the thousands of pilgrims, tourists, and villagers with their herds of cattle, horses and camels. Pushkar fair has always been the region's central cattle market for local herdsmen and farmers who buy and sell camels. This fair forms a fascinating location for photography-lovers.

Pushkar is also famous as the "Temple Town of Rajasthan". This place is conveniently accessible from the Pink City, Jaipur (137 Km) and Ajmer (14 Km) through the deluxe buses of Rajasthan State Transport Corporation, which are available in every 15 minutes. Private means of transportation are also easily available, in particular during the Pushkar Fair.”
